You may be closer than you think

Legendary football coach Lou Holtz writes in his book, “Wins, Losses and Lessons” about a childhood adventure he had while he and a friend were trying to swim across the Ohio River. It was an extremely foggy day, so much so that they could not see the other side of the river (about a mile away). At one point his friend (believing that he could not swim the entire distance) turned back and swam to where they had started. What his friend didn’t know was that they were already 3/4 of the way across the river! “He ended up swimming a mile and a half because he didn't believe he could swim a mile” said Holtz.

As Thomas Edison once said, “many of life’s failures are people who didn’t realize how close they were to success when they gave up”. Even though there might be fog and you can’t see the other side of the river, keep going. You may be closer than you think.
