Walking vs Running
If you walk for a mile or run for a mile on the treadmill, you end up burning off the same amount of calories. The difference is that when you run, you will finish sooner and you continue to burn more additional calories throughout the rest of your day.
On the last day of the school year, even though there were no students and all of my grades had been turned in, I was still required to be in the school building. I could have very easily made the decision to sleep in and workout anytime between 7:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; however, I still woke up at 3:57 a.m. and was in the weight room by 4:30 a.m.
Why do you ask? For the same reason it is advantageous to run on the treadmill- to get done sooner and accomplish more throughout the day. It sounds quite simple; however, many people sleep in only to then complain about not having enough time in the day. While I rarely accomplish everything on my daily “get-to list,” I never have regrets that I pushed myself to be my absolute best. Remember, you can’t win the day unless you win the morning.
