Talking about the things you want to accomplish in life is like using a pencil; no one (including yourself) can truly hold you accountable because you have the ability to later erase (deny/alter) what you said to justify why you failed on what you set out to achieve. Conversely, the process of writing down your goals is like using a pen; it’s permanent and leaves a footprint to which you and others can hold you accountable.

If God allows me to see my 35th birthday, my first book, LEAD: How to positively impact the world through Love, Effort, Attitude and Discipline, will be in print.

There it is. In the words of Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin’s character in the Home Alone movies), “There’s no going back now.” I am now a producer.

Far too often, I used to stop myself from publishing my original content, feeling that it was not good enough or fearing what others might think.

In my profession as a head football coach, I’ve learned two bits of advice that I pass along to aspiring young coaches that I ought to start applying to my own life as an author: 1- You’ll never truly be ready. 2- The best way to learn is by doing the job and learning from your mistakes!

I know my stories won’t be perfect, but the process of writing each day will allow me to get better and hopefully will help others along the way.
