No, I am Spartacus!
John Locke was a famous English philosopher/physician and is considered to be one of the most influential thinkers of his time. But maybe when you hear the name “John Locke,” your mind goes to the fictional TV character from the hit show “Lost.” Either way, one of these “Johns” distinguished himself from the other and was the first to come to your mind.
My name is Levi Nelson, and although I like to think of myself as having a semi-unique name, a simple facebook search will bring up multiple “Levi Nelsons” and a google search includes a professional ice hockey player with the same name. Can you imagine how many men with the name “John Smith” or women with the name “Olivia Brown” there must be out there! Strangely enough, before I met my wife Lindsay Moore, I dated another LindsEy Moore! Ok, they spelled their name different, but still, a LindsEy Moore is a LindsAy Moore.
Even though we are all uniquely and wonderfully crafted, there will most likely be multiple individuals that will carry your same name to their grave. Have you done enough to position yourself to the front of people’s minds? Will you be the “Spartacus” that others claim you to be or will you be just one of many who claim to be the real “Spartacus”? Your name may be given to you, but what you choose to do with that name is up to you!
