Live today as if you were fetching a ball

My dog will play ball until he wears YOU out. For as long as you are willing to throw a ball, he will retrieve it and drop it at your feet in hopes to start the process over again. He loves it!

What is most remarkable about playing ball with my dog is watching is one and only speed: 100%

It doesn’t matter how long we’ve been playing or how tired he might be, when I throw the ball, he sprints to it and sprints back. If somehow he was told (and could fathom) that the fate of the world depended on him giving 1 more ounce of effort, I am convinced he would fail.

He has never jogged to the ball and no one would ever dare question his effort. He may may not be the biggest or strongest but he will give you everything he’s got. Every. Single. Time.

Wouldn’t it be great if people viewed us the same way?! What if people watched us at work; in the gym; or in our homes and said, “Wow! there is no way he or she could have given any more to that task.” What would that look like? How would your life be improved as a result of your increased effort level?

When we get done playing ball, my dog is exhausted however he appears to be very happy and satisfied. Today let’s strive to live our lives in the same manner; hoping to feel the self-satisfaction that comes from giving maximum effort to our chosen tasks.
