“Great Leaders are easy to follow but hard to please” -Tim Kight
Leaders are easy to follow because they model the qualities of:
Love- LEADers care about you and always have your best interest at heart.
Hard work- LEADers have a crazy work ethic that inspires.
Humility- LEADers purposely serve others and give credit where it is due.
Positively- Nothing shakes LEADers. They don’t waste time and energy complaining but instead are always looking for solutions.
Knowledge- Not only do LEADers have a great body of information but are always striving to learn new methods to get better at their craft.
Consistency- LEADers are the same every day.
Leaders are hard to please because they expect those under there supervision to enable these same qualities which are not always easy to do or what we want to hear but helping people become the best versions of themselves is not a popularity contest. LEADers are not afraid to call you out or bring you back to reality when your head gets too big. LEADers have to look out for the entire tribe and will not tolerate behavior that does not enhance the mission such as negativity or a lack of effort.
If you aspire to become a LEADer remember it’s not about your title but rather about your actions. How you live your life reflects how others perceive you. Start with caring about others after all, “they don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” Step 2 is to focus on what you control (Effort and Attitude) and finally be disciplined to your purpose and “bring the juice” every day. If you LEAD than you will improve the lives of those you come into contact with, 100% guaranteed.
