Copy and paste

Who do you consider to be the best in your chosen profession, sport, or activity? One way to become better at whatever it is you choose to do in life is to simply find out what it is elite individuals do on a daily basis, and then implement that into your daily routine. It’s a simple as copy and paste.

Chances are you will not become the man or woman you are trying to emulate, and that’s a good thing. However, it is likely you will improve, which ought to be the goal of all individuals.

With all of the handy resources available today (i.e. podcasts, internet, books, video, etc.), it may be easy to find out what “the best” do. Anyone can pick up a copy of Tom Brady’s book and “copy” his workouts or adhere to his strict diet (I hope you like avocado ice cream). The tricky part, however, is consistently carving out the time to “paste” these things into your life.

People often make excuses that they don’t have the time and/or the resources to achieve greatness; however, I am a firm believer that people make time for what they feel is important. Each day when you wake up, you essentially have a blank document, a document that will be full of tasks and activities by days end. The sort of things that appear on that document are ultimately up to you.

It may be frowned upon by teachers for their students to “copy and paste” a research assignment; however, in an individual’s daily life, it may just be the secret that causes them to reach his or her true potential.
