Always Compete!
The coaching philosophy of Pete Carroll (The Head Coach of the Seattle Seahawks) is: “To do things better than they have ever been done before, with competition being the central theme driving us to maximize our potential.”
The U.S. Postal Service is currently running an add campaign painting the picture that whether we know it or not competition is a key part of the holidays. We compete to have the ugliest Christmas Sweater or to have the cutest holiday card. Some will bring out their inner Clark Griswold competing to have the most and elaborate Christmas lights in the neighborhood.
High performance psychologist Dr. Michael Gervais recently challenged Karch Kiraaly (USA Olympic Volleyball Coach) and Dacher Keltner (social psychologist) on his pocast: http://findingmastery.net/category/podcasts/ in the art of Piloerection- where the hair of the skin stands up. Let’s join them in the quest to see who can engage in as many conversations where vastnass and intimacy of a moment causes us to get goosebumps!
This season let’s do the Holidays better than they’ve ever been done before competing against each other in things that will change the world for good! Let’s compete against one another in who can give more to underprivileged children, donate the most time helping those in need or in our service to our local communities.
